HOT
Okay guys, things are getting EXCITING. WHy? You may ask.
Okay. I’ll lay a few things down.
1. We have a logo people. we have a logo. It’ will SOON make its appearance on this site, and more importantly, all around campus. SFSU campus, that is. At least, we are attempting to do so.
2. Thanks to some student members, and other non member student’s in Trogu’s class, the back room is now 98% cleaner than it was before. Which is a BIG improvement.
3. SXSW happened. Not that any of us went, but it happened, and it is good to keep up with the latest. I recommend you check out the interactive portion of the site and look at the finalists and winners, for there are some interesting things.
One of the speakers, Seth Priebatsch (SCVNGR). This guy is stoaked. He is passionate. This is only a clip of his talk, but it is still good. Yes, his energy is extremely high, but this is a good thing because he cares. I could go on and on and on about this. But I won’t.
4. Speaking of the power of games and the way technology is moving, if you watched the video above, and want to take things further and to the next level (because school only gets you so far) it pays to be a member. It’s not just about going to student meetings once a week, but it’s about going to events many don’t get the chance to go to, listening to speakers who know what they are actually talking about. SOosoSO let me present, some of you may already know and have bought a ticket for (I hope): An AIGA event: Interactive Chats: Designing for Tablet Experiences, Night 1 & 2.
Located at HotStudio (585 Howard Street), Paul Smith and Henrik Olsen will be teaching us young designers how to tread water in the interactive pool. Although we will not be doing any engineering, we will learn how to design our own application for the ipad. How could anything be better than that? I know you guys aren’t really busy from 6-8 on April 18th and 21st, if you are, I recommend canceling plans and changing them to be a better designer. Oh and I think there will be pizza.
Okay, I’ve talked enough and gotten way to excited about too many things, but we have to get involved if we want to be an even Better, more knowledgeable and experienced class.
The end.
Oh. RSVP NOW! Before It sells out. Which it will!
